Have you had any experience firing one of these? I know I have never even bothered, since I thought I would never need to know.

I have a S&W 638 which has the shrouded hammer and is 38sp only. The most I've ever run through it at one range setting was 50 rounds and that is enough. These were +p rounds, so not powder puffs. Not that I couldn't have shot more, it's that it just stopped being enjoyable. I'm not sure I'd want to shoot .357 mag out of that size gun.

In a self defense scenario, you wouldn't even notice the recoil so I'm not sure that's something I'd worry about.

I carry a Ruger SP 101, .357 w/3” barrel, It’s a little heavy and bulky but I like it.
