considering the number of people who have ever lived on Earth and if most of them were buried 3-5 feet underground...it seems to me that you couldn’t dig a hole anywhere without turning up someone!!!

Okay, it’s a weird thing to figure out, but using one estimate of the number of people who have ever lived on the Earth (40 billion), that leaves about 1373 square feet per person. And of course, some remains were not buried, and even those which were are often very old, or in conditions where they won’t be preserved.
It’s really too bad that they aren’t remains.
