Why should the parents' current marital status have anything to do with requiring them to pay college tuition for an adult child?

I’m not sure how they are getting around the adult part. I read in one article that she brought this suit right before the parents were going to bring suit to have the daughter declared “emancipated” from them. I have no idea why they needed to do that.

Well, I have seen divorced fathers forced to pay for their children’s college tuition, even if they turn 21...I’d have to do a lot of legwork to find the case though.
