A lot of these pools do have too much chlorine. They kinda have to. Kids take a whizz in the pool. Then the chlorine makes other kids sick and not wanna get in.

yeah. and school pools are used by rec depts for older folks aquasizing stuff and you know more stuff gets in the water then too.

kinda glad now my public/school pool days are over.

A lot of these pools do have too much chlorine.

What most people mistake for "too much chlorine" is actually a buildup of chloramines from chlorine combining with ammonia products, usually from swimmers' bodies. Chloramines give the water that "chlorine smell" and burns the eyes. The remedy is actually more chlorine. The technical term for the technique of eliminating chloramines is "breakpoint chlorination", commonly known as "shocking" the pool.
