Annie is a well-established character, and, she is “white”.

I can’t wait for the movie where, Obama is played by a white actor. A republican white actor, that is.

OTOH, they had a white Sweden-born actor playing "Charlie Chan".

That's not to mention Mr. Moto, off the top of my head. And Asians played by Mickey Rooney in some forgotten movie, and Peter Sellars, of course.
