Etymology: 1350-1400; Middle English propinquite < Latin propinquitās nearness, equivalent to propinqu (us) near ( prop (e) near (see pro-1) + -inquus adj. suffix) + -itās -ity
Examples from the web for pro-pin-qui-ty: Residents tolerate--even welcome--human propinquity. We have no idea what makes them friends other than their social propinquity. Their propinquity is a corroborating point, as is the quotation from the trial transcript.

okay, I have to rave about a movie. xssoninlaw is a space geek. he and xsteen went to see Interstellar the day it opened in IMAX at the Air and Space museum. xsteen said the movie was great. So xsbaby and I went to just a normal theater to see it on Sat. It was truly amazing. I think you would really like it, soother. It’s all science-y and stuff and intellectually compelling. I want to see it again, and as xsteen had said originally, it’s the kind of thing you almost need to see more than once to pick up on stuff you didn’t see the first time and didn’t realize their significance until the end. I highly recommend it.

it rained last night here too but supposed to clear today. 54 tomorrow and then wintry mix on Weds. We are going up to Bucks Co. PA to xsteen’s inlaws for Tgiving. I am really looking forward to it. It’s pretty up there. xsmen along with the inlaw men will go to the Flyers game on Friday and we will be black Friday shopping in NOTAXONCLOTHES, PA.
Today is the first day of Puppy Kindergarten, and I got the confirming email which said, “remember, the first class is without the dogs.” Seriously? what in the WORLD am I doing going to puppy K without the puppy in question? I resent time-wasting and I fear that is what tonight is going to be. I am not new to dog-owning, I have been to this rodeo 3-4 times in the past 10 years or so, so what do you think you are going to tell me that I haven’t heard before?
