To save the earth from the frigid death spiral, we must generate more CO2

We're doing our part - just purchased a Silverado gasser.

“If it’s a choice between global warming and ice ages, I’d hope the global warming believers are right.”

Me too, unfortunately the chance of the warmists being right is about equal to the chance that you really can keep your insurance plan. It’s awful being right when you would be so much better off if you were wrong.

I have a libinlaw that REFUSES to believe that the global avg temperature has been flat for 18 years and that the polar ice caps are actually growing, not melting.

Absolutely refuses.

I asked “how many sources of this fact would it take to prove it to you?”
The answer was “one good one” (see the “No True Scotsman” logic fallacy for how that would transpire).

Out of curiosity, I spent a bit of time looking.
And, out of curiosity, I looked at an article in the LAT.
I saw then that it was futile to even try. It’s a religion.

The gist of the LAT article was that the polar caps were increasing, and that it would take some more research to determine why this was happening _SINCE_ the earth was undergoing global warming.

GW is a GIVEN to them, it’s not a conclusion based on evidence. It’s a STARTING POINT.

I’ll stick with Joe Bastardi and his record of success. He looks at hard data and historical trends.

He’s also predicting several years of cooling but nothing extraordinary.

Yea...that third chart down is one that should scare the crap out of everyone. We’re over-due for another Ice Age.

Granted, they typically happen over such a long time frame, that I need not be overly concerned. But, it does suggest that “Global Warming” needs to be WAYYY down the list of things to worry about.

Average global atmospheric and oceanic temperatures will drop significantly beginning between 2015 and 2016 and will continue with only temporary reversals until they stabilize during a long cold temperature base lasting most of the 2030's and 2040's.

If we burn all of Al Gore's mansions, we should be able to stay warm through it.

Can a -1.0 deviation really cause another ice age?
Did it when it happened before?

Ice Ages start and end so suddenly, “it’s like a button was pressed,” say scientists

Dutch researchers drilling into the glaciers of Greenland have discovered that climate change occurs more rapidly than previously believed - indeed, the most recent ice age ended abruptly in just one year.

as I have always said:

made up data, fed into manipulated and faulty models based on a false premise, continually adjusted (along with the data itself) to always predict the desired outcome no matter the input!

Been working out of doors since ‘82 and I’ve never seen weather see saw like it has been doing.

The 1970s in the Northeastern US were a roller coaster ride - blistering 100 plus degree heat waves in the summer and major blizzards in the winter.

But our personal 30-40-50 year recollections represent such an unimaginably insignificant blip within a blip on the global time scale. It's like trying to find an annual trend by looking at a randomly selected 10th of a second.

Well!It looks like Al Gores global Warming is up in smoke once again.

The sun’s thermal output is declining Thats why the cooling is occurring. It has nothing to do with human activity.Something the liberals long for.

The good thing about any cooling, is we have a ready-to-go list of "scientists" who should never receive a another grant, and who should be shuffled out of academia.

You'd think. However, I predict they'll be eagerly waiting, hand out, because willing politicians never let a crisis go to waste.

Perceived crisis = more government control

They could be referring to the sunspot cycle and the observed decline in sunspot activity. I am thinking that the sunspot decline will affect the climate on Earth by driving temps down.
