Clinic Worker Describes Seeing an Abortion “I Saw Perfectly Formed Fingers and Toes”

Former clinic worker Zlata blogs about her time in the abortion industry:

I remember assisting, once in particular, in the operating room at the clinic where I had been a medical assistant for six years. I was standing behind the doctor and could see everything as he was performing an abortion on a woman who was 20 – 22 weeks pregnant. (Photo of unborn baby at 20 weeks below right).

Late term abortions were usually a two-day process. On the second day the actual abortion was performed. The doctor first removed the laminaria and was then able to reach in with forceps to pull the baby out piece by piece. This procedure is very hard to do and requires a good deal of strength on the part of the doctor.

On that particular day, from my position I was able to see him extracting perfectly formed little arms, legs, toes, fingers, spine and finally the head.

I could see the baby’s face. I don’t know how to describe what I felt at that moment. I realized that we just killed a human being. But at the same time I thought: it is legal, so it must be all right. But my whole being was just screaming against what I just saw. I felt death. I was ashamed and confused as I was staring at the bloody parts of the baby. I can even say I felt the presence of the devil. It was very disturbing. My mind was so blinded by the darkness in it I was unable to do anything.

Sometimes I think about that day and feel that I should have run away, or tried to stop this madness. What were we doing, as medical professionals, as human beings? What happened to our hearts? Where was our compassion?

If this baby had been born prematurely at 20 – 22 weeks it would have had a chance to live. I thought, “People, think about what are you doing. What am I doing?” Think about the consequences of this abortion. Imagine this is you. Imagine you are in the most secure place you could be, in your mother’s womb. You have no idea how cruelly your life will end, how you will be torn to pieces. We betray our children. We interrupt their precious lives so abruptly, so unexpectedly. You think abortion brings relief, but instead it brings emptiness, shame, pain, regret, feelings of death. For six years abortion was the way I put bread on my table. For six years it was my life…

My daughter lost two babies at 20 weeks and 22 weeks, a girl and a boy. Both babies were perfectly formed and had eyebrows, eyelashes, and fingernails. All they need was a few more pounds to be viable.

I worked in the Pathology Department of a major teaching hospital when I was young.During one of my many visits to the autopsy room I saw a jar (looked like a quart or half gallon pickle jar) that contained several fetuses. One was clearly, and almost completely, visable. She was no bigger than my thumb and was *perfectly* formed...no way could this baby be mistaken for anything but a very small human being. She was so perfectly formed that her fingernails needed to be clipped.

For the record, this was before Roe vs Wade so I don't know where these children came from.Stillbirths or miscarriages perhaps.

“on a woman who was 20 – 22 weeks pregnant”

My twin nephews were born at 23 weeks...they needed a lot of medical care to survive at first, but everything outwardly looked completely formed.

Reading these types of stories is brutal.

The young woman sat in the doctor’s office waiting room and cuddled the 6 month-old boy in her lap. Soon she was escorted to an exam room.

The doctor finally came in, smiled, sat down, glanced at her file and asked “Mrs. Jones, what brings you here today?”

She hesitated — then the words tumbled out in a torrent.

“Doctor, my husband doesn’t make much money, we have 3 children now and I’m pregnant again. Doctor we just can’t afford another mouth to feed – we’re barely making it now. She paused again. “Doctor, I want an abortion.”

The doctor sat back in his chair, laid the file aside and said, “An abortion costs around 500 dollars and you probably don’t have the money. I have a better, less expensive option.”

Reaching into a drawer, the doctor extracted a scalpel and continued.

“Lay the lad here across your lap and pull his shirt up so his chest is exposed.”

Shocked, she blurted, “What are you going to do?”

“Why, we’ll simply kill THIS baby.”

Clutching her son to her breast, she leapt to her feet and shouted “You MONSTER!”

The doctor paused, then spoke.

“Mrs. Jones, the only difference between your proposal and mine is that one baby is IN your lap and the other is ON you lap and, therefore, much easier to get at.”

She ran from the room, his words ringing in her ears.

Is abortion the killing of a human being?

Not according to Obama, NARAL and the other radical feminist gangs who require that abortion continue to be available to them as a last resort birth control method to allow them to persist in their sexually promiscuous lifestyle.

I’ll believe it’s NOT a human being when a woman gives birth to a chicken, hog or a tree.

“Outstanding story” really aren’t the appropriate words, but they’re all I have right now.
