Except none of the things on your list are actually using pumpkins. Pumpkin pie mix is almost all squash (you’ve got to work hard to find actual pumpkin pumpkin pie mix, it’s good for bowel health), and all the “pumpkin spice” stuff uses the spices you put in pumpkin pie but no pumpkin (or even squash). So we still don’t have any actual use for pumpkins other than temporary art.
My wife makes an excellent pumpkin bread- although I do like her zucchini bread even better. Pumpkin is a winter squash variety, while zucchini is a summer squash, so technically pumpkin bread is more appropriate to the season.
