Burt Reynolds is selling off hundreds of personal items from his Hollywood career because he's facing financial ruin.

More than 600 items, including a Golden Globe award he won for the film 'Boogie Nights', will be put up for auction next month.

A red jacket he wore in the hit film 'Smokey and the Bandit' is also up for offer.

Sad for Burt. I would have thought he had a steady income stream from movies he has produced.

I'm not sure that I believe the dailymail.co.uk. They are SUCH a rag.

Seems I recall hearing that he has always been “not very good at handling money.”

He does get residual income from all of his films and TV shows but it is probably not enough to support his lifestyle.
Bad investments and advice did him in like so many other celebrities that have absolutely no business sense or at least the ability to choose some reputable firm to take care of them.

Quite a co-inky-dink.

I was just wondering earlier today what ever happened with Burt, you know, after Deliverance and all that stuff.

That is possible, not probable, but possible.
I can't BELIEVE that he was so stupid as to not consult an attorney or CPA. They DO have some brains.
Perhaps he was too arrogant to listen to good advice. Who knows? We know all about actors except their REAL character, personality and values.

I wish him well, however.

They start out rich, but they also tend to spend like drunk bank robbers until they realize there’s nothing left.

Sorry but even though Baily was the winner, his abuse of Jennifer leaves me not. that concerned.

Smokey and the Bandit was on some old reruns last week. Watched it with my teenage grandson who thoroughly enjoyed it. Thinks it would be neat to have a CB so he could chatter with his friends. Doesn’t seem like that long ago that I watched it when it first came out!

I wonder if he gets any residuals for people taking pictures of his image at the wax museum?

Reynolds must have some acting bones left....

I can’t believe he can’t get bit parts in movies or TV to supplement his income....

I am sure he paid into social security all those years and he probably has a good SSI check coming in every month.

If he paid in a million $ over the years the tables say he could be receiving $1,500 a month. More than enough to live in poverty if one is very, very careful.

Back when men had hairy chests and looked sexy.

I notice it seems to be coming back into style.
