Same here (regarding internet speed).

Our is so slow that a three minute Youtube video is often a problem. Streaming movies and TV just isn’t an option in this area.

If you have limited bandwidth or other issues preventing streaming, consider changing to a mozilla - based browser (I like Pale Moon, others use Firefox) and adding a Flash download extension. Mine is called 'Download Helper'. Youtube and a whole bunch of other video sites can still be enjoyed this way. There's even a family-friendly version available.
