We will beat G-Tech. Not sure about Bama yet.

TCU leapfrogged past Florida State who fell to no. 4 after struggling to get by Florida.

That's Florida State's problem. Sure they're undefeated, but the perception (if not the truth) is that a lot of those games they won because of sheer luck.

FSU might be able to beat Oregon (in all fairness I've only watched a little bit of Oregon this year, so that's mainly speculation), I doubt very seriously that they could beat TCU or Ohio State and there's no chance of them beating Alabama.

The BYU situation some 30 years ago really started the discussion on finally eliminating the messiness of crowning a champion just based on polls. It was that very discussion that got the BCS system going by the late 1990's.

But really, what finally got the four-team playoff was the complete disgust over Alabama playing LSU again in the BCS Championship Game a few years ago. While not perfect (I'd like to see it evolve to an eight-team playoff with seeding done with a modern version of the BCS ranking system), at least now it's way better than it used to be.

Nobody puts Notre Dame in the corner.

They would likely join the ACC for football in such a scenario. They are already in that conference for other sports.

I agree we should celebrate the progress rather than whine about the imperfections.

You’ll get no argument from me for the playoff. I think eight teams would be better, but four is a good start. I just wish it was obvious how the committee ranks teams.

I think it is a matter of time until the big football powers split off from the minor teams anyway. The big boys make too much money to let the little guys write the rules. Furthermore, they can rid themselves of the NCAA.

In addition to Winston's rape allegations and proven shoplifting, there's also quite a bit of talk about point-shaving and gamblers. But ignore all that smoke--surely there's no fire.

Jimbo Fisher and whatever passes for FSU administration should just have the balls to suspend him from the team. Even if they lose their football games then, they'll gain something far better.

They usually play a tougher schedule than this year.

Why call it college football any longer? Just create an NFL farm team system and be done with it.

Just wondering...How do you measure that? The schedule was made 5 - 6 years ago for this season, so FSU played who was on their schedule. In a bit of an ironic twist, every time they defeated a team, that team fell in the polls causing their SoS to slide...What to do...

Football at the major football powers already is a farm team system for the NFL. So what? There is a place for such a system and there is a place for the student-athlete brand of football. All I’m saying is separate the two.

Strong undefeated team not only win their games, but also dominate lesser teams. FSU has had to pull out wins in the fourth quarter in too many games.

Several media pundits have opined over the last several months that it almost appears that divine intervention is playing a role in the continuing close, come-from-behind victories that Florida State University has achieved this season. If so, would that be a valid reason for the Football Playoff Committee to exclude FSU from the Top Four? After all, Alabama would not want to play America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, so they SURELY would not want to play God’s Team, no?
