Your quote refers to circumcision (or other Godly work) on the sabbath. I counter that with Matthew 7:1
Judge not lest ye be judged, (2) for with what judgement ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with whatmeasure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
That phrase does not say don’t judge ... it says don’t judge unless you are willing to judge yourself by the same standards.
Not exactly. Christ was confronting those who wanted to kill him. His use of circumcision was only the allegory or analog in that case. The underlying theme was more aptly put as doing what God commands vice what man dictates (as in Pharisee's). The text of Matthew 7 is often misused to prevent judgment that Christians are supposed to do. Jesus was directing his comments at the Pharisee's in the crowd as the context was in ruling as a king or judge, not in discerning righteousness.
The above verse isn't saying not to judge. It is saying not to judge more harshly than you would want done to yourself.
Proverbs 15:21 Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, But a man of understanding walks uprightly.Malachi 3:18 Then you shall again discern Between the righteous and the wicked, Between one who serves God And one who does not serve Him.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Ecclesiastes 8:5 He who keeps his command will experience nothing harmful; And a wise mans heart discerns both time and judgment...
Philippians 1:9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment...
Satan also quotes scripture. You might want to avoid treating the Bible as something you can spout quotes from to justify wickedness.
Do you think it is okay to abort a baby in cases of incest as long as it isn’t on a Sabbath? Or is it okay on the Sabbath in your mind also? Is this a “good work” in your mind?
If you are going to advocate any abortion, don’t do it on a pro-life site, and don’t do it quoting the Bible.
