And the state of Ohio protests vigorously!
If they decide to let tOSU in, look for them to flip flop Oregon/Bama to create a traditional B1g/Pac matchup in the Rose Bowl.
Go Navy! Beat Army!
*The only game that really counts.
The Noles won a hard-fought battle against GT last night. An undefeated team should count for something.
I predict Ohio State will be #4, but then I predicted Romney would win as well.
This years selection process is a failed experiment which has a committee deciding who will play in the final four games (announced today at 12:30 EST) rather than base the playoffs on actual win-loss records (FSU is the only undefeated team yet ranks 4th). Rather than have an actual playoff system, it has been reduced to a committee looking at the best geographic and conference matchups in the interest of ratings. This final four-light concept is really a joke and does not represent match-ups based on winning games.
I think the Big 12 really stepped in it by making TCU and Baylor co-champs. Had they not played each other during the season I would have no problem with it. But.. Baylor bet TCU on the field, they should own that trophy alone. I bekieve the Big 12 did this to ensure that they get a team in the playoff, proving even more that this playoff is just as much a farce as the BCS was.
Greed will win out. Four large state-run colleges will play and the small, private Christian-based schools with smaller fan bases will be left to grumble.
It will be 1. Alabama 2. Oregon 3. Ohio State 4. Florida State so the Rose Bowl can have the matchup it wants.
CFP=BCS=BS. I favor a playoff but I’m already disgusted by this closed-door process.
Can someone explain why this is slated for an hour and a half? Will the rankings be released at the end or in the beginning, and everyone remarks about it the rest of the time?
Ohio State will one of the four. That lets those on the panel off the hook re: TCU and Baylor. And if you saw what Ohio State did to Wisconsin you might agree. That said, I am from Arlington, Tx and hope TCU is the fourth pick.
Whoo Hoo!! Yes.
Number 4 is Ohio State.
Please tell me how TCU goes from 3 to 6 in 3 days after winning there game.
I think Ohio State is in. And here’s why.
Oklahoma lost to Oklahoma State. That was a common win for both TCU and Baylor, and now that win isn’t nearly as impressive, and it casts doubt on the strength of the Big 12 overall. I think that’s just enough to give Ohio State the edge.
