So looked up The Caprice and yep. Been there plenty.

I love the view and always eat outside.

Now, for me, that place is the place if you like rack of lamb or an awesome steak.

Their wine collection is really, really quite good.

Hmmm...I shoukd go there over Christmas for my hike, then drop in.

Can you imagine after a hard day hiking a delicious bowl of hot soup, a couple bloody Mary’s and a rack of lamb?

While taking in the views of the city and the scent of the Bay, at night?

Priceless.

And to think, my Mom wants me to move back to Oklahoma?

Uhmmm, Nope.

Luv yuh Mom...

The Caprice's specialty, so far as I was concerned, was the ris de veau financiere , followed by a glass of tawny port and a good cigar.

Better yet, Roger, the then-maître d', would often pour me a complimentary glass of vintage port. Kirby imported and labeled his own port...and he had very good taste.

However, the bowl of hot soup, the Bloody Marys and the rack of lamb -- with that view -- do sound priceless. And I don't even like lamb...
