That was entertaining. Thanks. Yes, it was just a Rubics Cube, which has been out since the 70’s, but this young man had a joyfullness that was evident in his presentation. Hopefully, the cops don’t get a hard time from their Chief, since they did not ticket or even ‘sternly warn’ him, which is what usually happens to me.

Well... you never actually SEE the cops, now do you?

Whihc means the whole thing could have been staged for video, and he had a second finished cube ready and just dropped the first one on grass or something.

Either that, or the dude feeds chocolates to Beelzebub in exchange for magical transformations.

the police don’t “have to” give a ticket.... I cut across some lines because I almost missed my exit...CHP pulled me over and took a BAC test then let me go.

The officers who get into “trouble” are the non-traffic duty crew who have either the most (less “trouble”) or the least (most “trouble”)

It’s a matter of “what are you doing out there for 10 hours that you write the least tickets or why do you always write 2x the tickets as everyone else—who are you mad at?

If he’s feeding with Ghiradelli’s Chocolate or See’s Chocolate of San Francisco, that would be hard to resist. It he’s supplied with an ample amount of Devil’s Food treats (!), well, Katie bar the door, as they used to say.

I think Ghiradelli’s is the best chocolate in the world.

Maybe that's why the San Francisco Bay Area is filled with so many top demons - they feed them the best chocolate.

Good thing a dog isn’t part of his act.

Not necessary.

Shortly after the cube came out, a friend of mine became proficient enough to consistently solve the cube from any state in no more than thirty seconds.

The young man in the video was actually creating the pattern to be solved and may well have been able to create a pattern which could be solved even faster.

The final trick of throwing the cube and catching it in a solved state probably involved putting the cube into a preferred state where only two adjustments are needed to solve it. The trick would be demonstrating the manual dexterity to solve the cube with the same motions that launch it into the air. Magicians have a lot of fingers and its hard to see what all of them are doing in a very short period of time.

We played a trick on my friend who was able to solve the cube by disassembling one and rotating a corner piece through 120 degrees. This creates a cube which cannot be solved EVER. It was fun watching him struggle to identify the pattern he was looking for knowing that it was never going to be there.

I was never good at solving those.
I’m pretty good at Far Cry 4, though.

My friend simply mastered a small booklet which explained how to do it. It wasn't worth my time.

I haven't seen this friend in years, but if I thought I might encounter him I would study up and set up a prank whereby I could show off my mastery.

I don't even know what "Far Cry 4" is. A video game? My son-in-law loves those.
