lol. How many Midshipmen actually know what it means much less support it? Just a nifty slogan to them.

Those of you who think you know it all are so annoying to those of us who do.

Well they signed up while we are in the midst of a shooting war so I am giving them the benefit of the doubt in both commitment and knowledge of naval history.

The Midshipmen all serve on Navy ships, all of which have flown the First Navy Jack since soon after 9/11. The Midshipmen carry the First Navy Jack, along with the National Ensign when they take the field at the beginning of every football game. If you stop laughing long enough, visit Memorial Hall on the Yard (the USNA campus) and you will see the names of all the former Midshipmen who died serving under the First Navy Jack and our National Ensign. I know two of the families of fallen Midshipmen killed in Iraq. You can rest assured that the Midshipmen know all too well what "Don't Tread on Me" really means. You can stop laughing, now.

The Midshipmen take a lot of naval history and tradition in their plebe orientation, I’m pretty sure they know what it means. These are not your average jocks!
