Other rich people do better things with their money. Elon Musk took his PayPal money and is building companies that may make a quantum leap in their industries. Jeff Bezos, and Richard Branson are also putting money into space exploration, as are the wealthy that started Planetary Resources, Inc. James Cameron built a submarine and explored the deepest part of the ocean.
Lots of rich people are doing medical research, and even Tim Tebow and Payton Manning have built hospitals. I'll even include Bill Gates, although I dearly wish he would cut out the population control crap. But he is doing good things on disease research.
I see on the original thread that he does give money to charity and that's good, but this other stuff seems to be very shallow.

this is exactly what would happen if a fifteen year old suddenly got a lot of money. This is obviously a bid for attention of “see how rich and famous I am” that doesn’t work well with me. There doesn’t seem to be any there, there.
