I have heard some of those. If done in the A,A,B,B,A Rhyme Scheme, and scans like the bards of Ancient Limerick, Ireland, and starts with the phrase “There once Was a Gal From Nantucket”, it can easily become a Classic!
Maybe he is teaching Catullus (in Latin, of course). We shouldn’t rush to judgment.
