What SEAL Team was Ventura assigned to, and when? In the early 1970s, when there were UDTs and SEAL Teams, they were NOT the same. Different missions, different risks. As in, combat, vs no combat.
Nothing wrong with being a UDT guy. I was, too, in 1982, after being at ST-2, and just before UDT-21 became ST-4. While I was in Beirut, incidentally.
Tell me again who appointed Brandon Webb as the official overseer of SEAL status? Was he in a SEAL Team during the UDT era? I was. He wasn’t. I’d say I have a better position to speak than he does.
Get back to me with something that says .mil at the end of it, not just some random former frog’s blog.
Shortly after his election as governor, in response to a number of questions, Naval Special Warfare said that Ventura was a SEAL, citing his reserve service. Why did it do that?
A quick Google search shows that he was invited to speak at least twice at BUD/S, possibly more. If the SEAL community believed he was misrepresenting himself, why was he invited to speak?
I understand there is a petition for the UDT-SEAL Association to kick Ventura out because of his lawsuit against Chris Kyle. If he was misrepresenting his service, why did the SEAL community not ask the association to remove him earlier?
Re-reading my post of a few minutes ago, I fear I may have come off as more belligerent than I intended.
As I noted in an earlier post on this thread, I regarded the NSW comment on Ventura as authoritative. The questions I was asking were sincere. If Ventura has been misrepresenting himself, why did Naval Special Warfare embrace him the way it did, and why did so many SEALs support him until the Kyle lawsuit?
