From what I understand (and this could be outdated info, so feel free to correct me), AIDS is caused by a “Retrovirus”.
The very definition of a “Retrovirus” is that it can lay dormant for MANY years before blossoming into an infection.
Because of this, anyone who has had male-male sex, anyone who has had illicit intravenous drug use, and anyone who has worked in an AIDS infected area such as Haiti or parts of Africa, should be banned from donating blood, except for their own use.
In fact, if they were sincere about increasing the blood supply, they should just donate for their own use, thus freeing up the non-AIDS-Related Blood Supply.
This would not be picking on homosexuals, as other high risk groups are included.
The fact that this is not even considered proves that it is not “altruism” that fuels this controversy, but the furtherance of their own agenda.
The nature of their behavior, combined with the number of people they do it with, is highly contagious for HIV. But they don’t want to admit that reality, they want to say that the CDC stats are lies meant to hurt homos.
