What odds she’s pregnant by 7th grade.

my Dad: Why are you crying?
Are you hurt?
Are you sick?
Would you like me to give you a reason to cry?

I’m always confused by these public displays, is it really discipline or the Dad screaming “look at me, I’m a good parent” Wouldn’t taking away phone, internet be a better place to start? When we had that problem with our 13 year old daughter talking to strangers online, that’s where we started. Then, I sat down with her and went thru the sex offender registry in our area. She was shocked at how many “looked normal”. Then after she got internet back, I would occasionally check up on her online. Never a problem.

She will be a mom at 15.

She may bear offspring by then, but she is unlikely to be a "mom". Prayers the she finds her way, with God's help.

Yes, I wish him good luck - he’s got a difficult problem there.

Other commenters, however, have objected to Jones’s public form of punishment. On Jezebel’s story (http://jezebel.com/dad-puts-10-year-old-daughter-on-blast-for-lying-about-1651745899) about the situation, YolandiVisser wrote, “I definitely don’t think the father’s intentions were bad, but whether he meant to or not he publicly humiliated this girl at an age where anything that happens to her is going to end up being very formative. And I think being shamed in front of all of the internet is a pretty big deal to a young girl’s self esteem. That’s something she’s going to remember forever.”

Gee, a "sex in the city" style hedonist website attacks the father for shaming his daughter for lying about her age and seeking 'relations' with older men. What a surprise.

The most terrifying sound was my dad’s stomp down the hall and his belt being taken off.

It made me and my brothers instantly stop whatever rambunctiousness we were doing at the time.

Thank God my boys grew up in the last generation with no net.

Unfortunately I have a 13 yr old great granddaughter who could pass for 18. But she is closely monitored by her mom and grandma. Who know all about computers. And Grandpa and uncle are very big men and very protective.

My dad to my brother and I: “Don’t make me come in there.”

Bill Cosby said that his dad would be sitting in the living room, reading the newspaper, while the kids cavorted about and raised the usual Hell.

When his father got fed up, all he had to do was shake the newspaper and a pall of dread fell over the kids, who immediately calmed down.

I cracked up, as I remember my dad doing that - with the same results.

Must suck to be the only black girl in her crew that actually has a responsible father.

Bad idea. This "shaming" is going to be with this girl for a lifetime. When she is going through high school and even into her adult years, people are going to be pulling this up on the Internet and she'll never live it down.

Any relationship she had with her father is likely irrevocably damaged.
