You know what.....I doubt these dog bites you talk about are dogs from in the home...probably not ever black labs.....and normally dogs are very gentle with the babies in their own home.

But then again, we could just stop doing every damned thing and put the ER’s out of business I guess....you are a very sour boring curmudgeon type person, or at least with respects to this posting you are. I feel sorry for you.

Having a minor accident from time to time is the cost of doing stuff and not living in a damned vacuum......

...and BTW, I come from a family full of doctors - and the daughter who was a vet tech for 9 years is now working in an ER in NY State.

Seems like the dog is enjoying it. Maybe Trig is giving the dog a back rub?

Google is there for anyone to look less ignorant before they post something

"Labs lead in dog bites in Omaha"

"In a news story that ran last week, NHS is reporting that type of dog that led in dog bites in the city was.....Labrador Retrievers. Labs recorded 79 bites whereas the next highest number ws from German Shepherds at 44 with 42 from 'pit bulls' and 33 from Chihuahuas. The story of course notes that the large number of Lab bites are because Labs are very popular."

There is lots more where this came from (google).

It saddens me how little people here really understand dogs. There was one post here awhile back in which people insisted that dogs loved being hugged.

All dogs bite. And most bite a child and because of how the child is treating them, in a home, with or without parental supervision. That's why most rescues, none that I know of, will place a dog of any age or breed, in a home with a young child.

I am beginning to better understand why my friends who are professional animal behavioralists want to scream in frustration at times.

Just to add to your incredible stupidity of making assumptions from microscopic input, my manager last week commented how much he enjoyed my upbeat and outgoing personality at work.

When I began here at FR personal attacks were rare and people actually discussed the issue. It also saddens me now how this place has in many ways developed a kind of lynch mob attitude. Try to stay on track with the discussion and not lower yourself into personal comments about someone you don't even know.

I work with doctors and often socialize with them so I hope you were not trying to impress me.

go away....I doubt labs led in “per capita” bites.......and I doubt seriously that many, if any, had to do with children playing with them.

I’m with Sarah. You’re with stupid.....

It is pretty commonly known that labs do lead in dog bites. Here is a very recent study in CO:

http://www.coloradohometownweekly.com/top-stories/ci_27189715/front-range-dog-stats-labs-responsible-most-bites

But, there are also more labs as pets than other breeds, nearly 3 times as many as the next breed registered (chihuahuas) according to this article.

The difference - if a lab bites you, it is probably pretty survivable, single bite and move away. If a pit bull bites, it is probably not going to end well.

Nuts is being butthurt for over four years about losing a debate that couldn’t be lost but for incompetence.

Hm, I don’t recall losing that debate. And I agree, it was pretty cut and dried.

You were utterly unable to make a case that could stand up to scrutiny. It was fun making a fool of you. lol

I wonder if we’re thinking of the same thread? Because in the one in which I was involved, the non-nuts side of the argument pretty well wiped the floor with the nutty conspiracy theorists.

There were dozens of threads and no one ever "wiped the floor" with the "nutty conspiracy theorists." That was the fun of it. The Contrail Nutters were the ones who couldn't pull a cogent argument out of their arses for love nor money.

But thanks for showing us all what a real neurosis is. Butthurt for 4+ years is almost an accomplishment. LOL

No butthurt here. I thought it was a great thread. One of FR’s epic threads and fun to see sanity prevail. As I recall, you were one of the lone holdouts on your side.

As I said before; apparently you were one of the suckers who believed I was sincere. Don’t know why that post got pulled. The fact that you brought it up again says all anyone needs to know in spite of your denials.

Ohhh, so you were just pretending that whole time then. I see.

I must say, that’s a great technique — anytime you get whipped in a debate, just claim you were just joshin’.

I said so at the time and neither you nor anyone else whipped me you loon. LOL

You made a fool of yourself.

Ah yes, the memories. The thread is just as I remembered it.

What’s really funny is that the final post in that epic thread is someone ridiculing you for your “nuttiness”. I kid you not, that’s the word he used.
