My thoughts too - the reason I found the show funny was because they obviously understood the maladies they set for each of the characters - the folks on the show were smarter than those who "study" them.
The point is these Hollywood types in their vain imaginings—fashioning artificial personalities using academic models of human behavior as established by psychiatry, which knows humanity about as well as Don Quixote understands windmills—are less intelligent than bird snot compared to God, who creates reality.
