Cold and dry today, still below freezing. We’re supposed to get rain tomorrow afternoon and evening but it will get above freezing. It’s the first night in several that I am leaving the chickens to sleep outside in their coop. When it is in the low teens or single digits, I keep them in a dog crate in the garage where it stays in the mid 30s. Less stress on the gals who are outside in the cold all day long. I know they would be fine in the coop, but they are more pets than livestock so I treat them accordingly.
It’s cold, but no wind chill factor to deal with. Covered a call for another squad member. 9mo old baby boy. Cute little guy.
