But Miami-based maritime lawyer Jim Walker says these measures are not enough. Instead, he advocates automatic man overboard detection systems....
This 42" rule on rails has every charter boat in the country going into debt on metal work to make the sea safe for the mentally incompetent... Pretty soon the vid-cam-sat-feed-company lobbyists on K Street and fat cat lawyers like Jim Walker who feed like lampreys on independent businessmen will rent enough congress-critters to tell every Captain and owner to install a million-dollar "detection system." The answer? As always, sell the boat, walk away, destroy another industry with nanny state nonsense. I got a detection system for you, Jim Walker: "DING! A-HOLE!" ...And there you are!

I would place a large wager that this guy had been drinking until the wee hours of the morning and fell overboard.

The ship he fell off of had 42 inch high rails. He managed to fall off anyway.

O Golux, you do not realize the manifold dangers present in everyday activities!
For example, one is very apt to become over-stimulated when perusing FReep posts. So, our Pan-African/American Government (may Allah Bless them) hath decreed that none of us... neither me nor you ... must operate an input device without being firmly anchored with a shoulder harness to the floor in an OSHA-approved soundproof room, while wearing head, ear, eye, and toe protection. It is for the children, especially those who may have survived post-partum abortion.
Of course, Golux, for your own good, I have been instructed to inform you that you shall not have any internet access until you install the required PPE and that equipment is certified by an OSHA Inspector. (Inspector Antwan, who is presently handling a case in Ferguson, Missouri, is your guy.)
Tip: Give Antwan your Lunch Money.
