Mitt Romney stressed the need to sharply reduce poverty in America Friday night during a speech to members of the Republican National Committee.
Under President Obama, the rich have gotten richer, income inequality has gotten worse and there are more people in poverty in American than ever before, the former Massachusetts governor told a large crowd aboard the USS Midway Museum on San Diego Bay.
He said only Republican and conservative principles, such as focusing on education, fostering strong families and creating jobs, could solve a problem that President Lyndon Johnson first tackled 50 years ago.
His heart was in the right place, but his policies didnt work, said Romney, contending Obama has failed in similar fashion to Johnson. Their liberal policies are good for a campaign every four years, but they dont get the job done.

Funny, that’s the same way Democrats increase poverty;)
Yes. Bishop RomneyCARE has become the
LEADER of the Give.Obama.Power party
as he announces that HE alone
WILL IMPOSE redistribution
(to follow his past impositions of
Romneymarriage, polygamy and ROmneyCARE).
Damn right focus on poverty. No more government aid except for the very elderly and those that are truly disabled. It’s time to force the freeloaders and leaches to get jobs. Of course this will never happen because it’s hard to see a politician coming out against welfare, so down the black hole we go.
No Jeb, No Mike, No Chris, No Mitt, No Paul, No vote.
Excellent graphic! I need to show this to my husband and to my favorite sister, the latter of which accuses me of being too militant in my conservatism. She thinks Romney is great. She says she likes Cruz but finds him unelectable because he lacks charisma.
Romney wants a do-over for 2012 which was a do-over for 2008.
He is ‘evolving’ after molting.

When a candidate has to re-introduce and re-make himself, you know he will say and do just about anything to try to get elected. For Romney, it seems to be style over substance.
I’m waiting for the candidate who has a plan to get 93 million people back to work. Create 93 million new jobs. How will that ever happen?
Romney has been running for office since 1993, and already Cruz has won as many elections as he.
Romney’s mentor was William Weld, remember that Romney left the GOP in 1979 because of Ronald Reagan and became in practice a democrat, although registered as Independent, and only rejoined the GOP in October of 1993, after Reagan was gone. Romney is far left to what people who only tuned in 4 years ago realize.
Thanks for that info.
If you ever need the links or proof of anything that you see me post on Romney, just ask.
You should visit the old Romney threads from 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 for the hard hitting facts on him.
Today we don’t tend to get into as much detail on him as we used to.
The Democrats always have a plan to create jobs that involves borrowing billions of dollars and spending more than those billions on pie in the sky schemes that puts billions of dollars in Democrat cronies pockets.
Of course those jobs are temporary because Democrats do not want permanent jobs. The need for job creation keeps Democrats in power.
And of course if those billions of dollars had remained in the private sector it is likely that more jobs would have resulted and those jobs would have been far more permanent.
