Very interesting. I'm glad you mentioned Edward Bernays. I think every conservative should be familiar with his work as a partial inoculation against the thought molders.

Yes, Bernays has an important role to play in the context of modern mass manipulation, but since he moved on from journalism and into the CPI in a rather short period of time, and then from there into corporate "Public Relations" (which he states in his own words that he always preferred the word 'propaganda') much of his "work" belongs elsewhere, in another study paper perhaps.

Surprisingly, the BBC's documentary on "The Century of the Self" does a lot to teach about progressivism in the first hour long segment, though they try hard not to. I literally laughed out loud when they glossed over his work at the Committee of Public Information, but its the BBC after all so you have to leave room for such allowances.
