Seem regressive? It would be if not for Cortana, the glue that holds it all together. The goal seems to be an all-new Web browsing experience that abandons add-ons, menus and bookmark lists for a new form of interface made simple by a digital assistant.

I guess I will skip Windows 10 as well. I have no use for an OS that "abandons add-ons, menus and bookmark lists." Win7 is not going anywhere.

I made a step up to...Ubuntu Linux. It boots up fast and shuts down fast. Works great and comes with all the software I need. Price is great, too.

Win7 will probably be gone in months of 10’s release since they’ve done what I didn’t expect: Made 10 a free update from both 8 and 7.

After 18 years using Windows I, for technical reasons,switched to Mac just in time for the update to Yosemite to totally obviate a three thousand dollar investent in music production. Now my studio is off line, silent aND useless. Starting to miss Windows...
