Is Tom Brady telling the truth? Is he lying? Can both scenarios be possible?
Is it remotely plausible that some unnamed, unknown, mystery equipment manager altered the footballs without Brady's knowledge and approval
or did 11 of the Patriots' footballs, but not one of the Colts, nor apparently 12 more backup footballs from the Patriots, lose pressure naturally?

You’re an idiot
Confrontational interviews with Belichek and Brady will come only after that preparation. Meanwhile, Goodell will be conferring with leading owners as to possible sanctions. I suspect that when the NFL completes its investigation, punishments will soon follow and will be substantial and definitive.
Now that’s down right funny. First you said in fact. Now you’re stating it isn’t a fact, which is what I had asked about in the first place. You could just have said that you really don’t have a source even mentioning that referees haven’t been interviewed. It was speculation on your part.
So since you haven’t seen any articles making mention of statements from any officials of the game, that led you to believe that none of them have been interviewed. I see. Very insightful. Thanks for the chuckle.
Oh my gosh! You must - "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb" it is an excellent parody.
George C. Scott, Peter Sellers (playing three roles), Sterling Hayden, Slim Pickens....
Been through the sixties? You'll love this movie.
Sounds like a great, do-not-miss sort of movie. Yes, I’ve been through the sixties. I’ll make sure to put it on my bucket list. Thanks for the tip!
Issue resolved. Bug report filed. Escalated to Engineering. Firmware upgrade done, all systems nominal and back in production.
;-)
LOL
You defend this nonsense as something serious, can't deal with the fact that the Patriots won the second half 28-0 WITH balls at regulation inflation, plus you can't deal with the clear and obvious truth that your Cowboys "cheated" (more proof for that than in this so called "scandal") their way to an NFL win in a play off game.
So you resort to name calling.
Good job. Like I say: Perfect.
Yes. If you think the second half score of the Patriot-Colt game is some sort of panacea for them cheating and breaking the rules, you are an idiot.
Secondly, unless you’re suggesting that the Cowboys paid the referees to make that call in the Lions game, then the Cowboys did not cheat. Did they benefit from an awful call? Of course. That’s not cheating.
So yes, the arguments you continue to make despite being presented with facts, are idiotic.
You're wrong.
The second half is the best argument for showing how stupid this "scandal" is. That you think that fact it's unimportant they destroyed the Colts with the correct balls is telling.
That you think it's somehow worse than a UNIVERSALLY panned bad call that actually entirely changed the course of a play off game(far worse than what you're prattling on about) is also telling.
Here's the reason why: many ex-NFL quarterbacks who now work for the various sports TV networks all say that the process of "seasoning" a football to the liking of the quarterback is usually between the quarterback and the equipment manager, NOT with the head coach. And even Brady admitted he liked to play with footballs inflated with lower air pressures in a news article published in 2013. In short, it's going to be mostly Tom Brady that's going to be in trouble--can you say US$100,000 fine and possible suspension for a few games?
Temperature doesn't even come close to accounting for 2+ PSI. Nor did any of the Colts-provided footballs have a problem.
Telling as to what? It’s not just me who thinks the Patriots cheated for the purpose of gaining an advantage. It’s about 98% of people outside of New England.
You said the Cowboys cheated. That’s not true, therefore you’re wrong. I’m not debating which event was worse. Incompetent refereeing is not the Cowboys fault.
So if the Patriots had won by only three points, but all the facts were still the same, it wouldn’t be a scandal?
The rule exists for a reason. They violated the rules intentionally to gain an advantage. Simply because they didn’t need the advantage doesn’t forgive the offense.
It doesn't change the fact that the Patriots* were still cheating. Just because they were bad at cheating doesn't excuse the behavior.
Precisely right. But when Goodell suspended Sean Payton he made the statement that “ignorance is not an excuse”. So if he’s going to be consistent, Belichek has to go down too.
Let’s remember, this is a team with a proven track record of cheating. They’ll be second offenders in one of the biggest games of the year. If this is proven, the NFL will be forced to act. If they don’t - they’ll be shown for the joke that people think they are after the Ray Rice fiasco.
Do we have video of the referees running pressure gauges on the balls? Or are we Trayvon Martining the “facts” about how these balls were “checked?”
When and where were they inflated? That is the question. If the Colts balls were inflated in the cold, they could have been *over pressure* when warm, and the right temperature when cold.
Remember - a football is a semi-rigid vessel. Unlike a latex balloon, where the volume will change significantly, the volume will not change significantly in a football.
And - YES - only a 30 degree change in temperature can account for a 1.5lb change in pressure in a football. It was a pretty cold day out there.
Science is fun. Occam’s Razor applies.

Peter King reports ...
NFL reports that they have issued no statements.
GEEZ.
