:: 2) Chris Simms was on local radio today and they had three footballs: 1 properly inflated, 1 underinflated, and 1 overinflated. He touched each ball once and correctly identified each. This is CHRIS SIMMS! Tom Brady is a first ballot Hall of Famer and he says he couldn’t tell??? ::
I am a lifelong Lions fans.
That said, did Chris Simms stick his hand in an ice-bath for 10 minutes prior to “examining” the balls? Without the “cold” factor, this “pundit” is simply “perpetrating-a-fraud”.
Note, I’m not trying to vindicate Bellichek/Brady but, really...when you get spanked by that much, the nay-sayers appear to be whine-enthusiasts.
Tell me, would Ray Nitchke complain about a “soft ball” when he got pancaked by Alex Karras? And to be circumspect, would D’Qwell have made the INT if the ball ^wasn’t^ soft? (Reference Bostic of GB on the K-O?)
Like I said earlier, if the Colts had rallied and made it close once the balls were made "official" in the second half there maight be a case for punishment. That the Patriots beat them 28-0 when the balls were correct is the most telling statement about the ridiculousness of those who claim this was "serious".
I suggest the league take away all points the Patriots scored in the first half as punishment......
I thought the temperature outside at the game was 50 degrees? That's hardly an ice bath.
