If you click on his embedded link you actually find that Naughton supports the weather theory:

See #154. The link you gave me shows somebody else who was able to excerpt the same paragraph just like I did. The “COULDN’T HAVE” in the original URL I posted proves to me that they changed their story. Shenanigans.
