Cubs legend Ernie Banks has died, according to a Cubs source.
This is a developing news story, check back for details.
Now pitching for the Washington DC queers.
Barry HUSSEIN (I’m not a muslim even though my father and all of my brothers are).
+I was at the “Ernie Banks Day” game at Wrigley in 1964.
+I was at Cardwell’s no-hitter - 2nd game of a DH in 1960. Banks hits a 2 run homer in the 6th.
+Box seats on the Cubs dugout 1969 home opener - Banks hits 2 homers.
Ernie Banks
-2 years active in the Army.
-Back in the day - he was a registered Republican.
-Gov. Olgivie(Rep) appointed Ernie a member of the CTA board @ 15k a year. Ernie never attended a meeting.
Ernie - you done good. Time to let someone else play two today.
I waited in line 3 hours years ago to be able to get his autograph.
Eternal peace, Ernie. Thanks for your contribution to the ‘69 Cubs.
I remember him when I was a kid. What a great ballplayer, and a classy guy on and off the field as well. RIP
He’s gonna see a lot of friends and former team mates. The first thing they’ll say is, “Let’s play two!”
I spent almost a whole day with Mr. Banks back in 1980 helping film a fund raising commercial for a free children’s hospital. He was really a very pleasant guy. He will be missed by those who remember him.
A great player, a class act ... one of my all time favorites.
RIP Mr. Cub!
Let’s Play Two!
What a guy.
1963, when getting an Ernie Banks baseball card was really a thrill, and to see him out there from the left field stands...
VERY sad news. Ernie Banks was my boyhood, baseball hero. I just woke up and saw I had a couple texts about Ernie’s passing - one from my sister. Mr. Cub came to my southside grammar school for an evening with the men’s Holy Name Society and sons before his final season in 1971 - I was 10 years old. I was able to ask him about hitting his 500th homerun during the question/answer part of the evening. Before the night ended my dad took me up to meet him, shake his hand, and he autographed a 1969 scorecard from a game in which he hit a homerun. I also met him decades later at Wrigley Field - what a genuine, life-loving man!! Too bad he (and my dad) never got to have the thrill of a Cubs World Series championship.
RIP Ernie. Your BB card was great for scaling and flipping, back in the day.
Frank (The Tank) Kaminsky, the Badger? He has his own park?

Obama said Cominskey.
Wasn't he the one that loved the game so much he is known for the phrase "Let's play two"?
Now Ernie gets to play two whenever he wants. RIP
A class act. RIP.
RIP, Mr. Cub.
Steve Goodman was waiting for you.
You know it’s a beautiful day in heaven, and they’re gonna play two.
RIP, Mr. Cub.
Steve Goodman was waiting for you.
And Ron Santo.
