It depends upon the environment in which the balls were originally inflated. If they were inflated in a 70 degree locker room, and then taken outside to a 45 degree playing field, presumably the PSI of the balls would drop to some extent.
If they had been barely within the lower PSI limit, they likely would have dropped below that limit when taken out into the cold.
This whole thing is academic as the Patriots destroyed the Colts in the second half when supposedly the Patriots’ footballs were within the proper PSI range.
As to the playoffs and the NFL, I don’t give a hoot as many players, teams, and NFL management are corrupt.
