Usually reboot is used to describe a movie that will start from the beginning as if the previous movie(s) never existed. So “Batman Begins” with Christian Bale is a reboot of the Batman franchise in the sense that it made no reference to any previous Batman movie. What this means is this movie will have a plot as if the original Ghostbuters team never existed.
