“Why did that happen?”
Don’t know. I was there for a wedding for friends from MIT. (Yes, there is a “pluralistic” synagogue there — meets at the Unitarian church.)
Anyway, I am Israeli, Hasidic, and, yes, very tall (although not hairy, Osage). Stood out like a sore thumb amongst all the pastels.
I was at the shops, looking around, and literally people were pointing and whispering. People came around a corner and pointed. Happened several times.
They could have been non-observant Jewish people for all I know (as they are often the rudest).
They could have been tourists from somewhere they don’t have observant Jewish people.
Or they Democrats trying to figure out how I escaped the Brookline Ghetto
That is so rude. Or maybe, your striking good looks overcame their usual courtesy? :)
Back in my yout...I was a long haired surfer dude...in SoCal.
Had plenty of people treat me different....
I respect you my FRiend....
No worries............
How strange. If it was during the summer it’s primarily summer visitors. If during the off-season it’s locals. A lot of people from New York go there in the summer. (They’re called ‘two-one-twos’ because of their area code.) But 212’s wouldn’t find you unusual.
Other than people pointing at you - how was the wedding? Did you enjoy the beach or looking at the boats?
