Farther down the article, the PTO pres lists all of the other family activities. Mom had plenty of opportunities to “feel special” without causing a ruckus.

once you allow this constant redefining of what is a "mother" a "father" a "husband" or a "wife" or a "married couple" then this is what is to be expected...
