I buy pork lion when it goes on sale for under $2.00/lb.
I buy the whole loin (about $14) and then have the butcher cut them into about 1 1/4” slices. Then I have him repackage them to three/package. It usually results in about 6-7 packages. Then they go into the freezer.

We have also been buying ground pork and mixing that with Marinara sauce or to make chili. It has more flavor than ground beef anyway.

I also buy whole loins on sale at Fareway for $2/lb or lower, then have it cut into 3 roasts, approximately 2.5 to 3 lbs each. One easy fix is take a 3 lb cut, put in slow cooker. Mix 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, about a half can of water, and one packet of dried onion soup mix. Stir this to smooth, pour over roast, cover and cook all day. YUM.
