Why go all the way to that side of the world to make an ass of yourself? That could have been easily done here and far cheaper too.
Of course, if they did this here, it would probably not even make national news. I guess they got famous through bad behavior, which in the current culture here is very much OK.
I recommend the Singapore punishment for them. It would be an effective deterrent for those who did not learn self control in their youth.
