I drink occasionally. I don’t brag about it and I know alcohol really messes up a lot of people who use/abuse it. Will a stoner ever say that when they know the same is true? Not hardly.

I can attest to becoming manic after smoking pot. It made me VERY manic and even somewhat paranoid.

Bipolar disorder and marijuana don’t mix.

You can lean in any direction you like ...

Chowing down on a. phalloides, a natural material made by the same Being who made c. sativa, will invariably have predictable results.

This is likely brought to you by the same “scientists” that brought us anthropogenic global warming.

Hyperactivity? Aggression? Delusion? Perhaps this happens to hyperactive, aggressive, delusional nutjobs when they smoke pot, but not for the vast majority of pot smokers who find it a relaxing, peaceful, fun experience.

If a drug is to be feared because a minuscule number of people get hyperactive & aggressive, then alcohol, which causes these reactions in virtually everyone, should be outlawed immediately. See domestic violence & bar fight statistics for reference. We had better ban caffeine, too, the drug of choice for the hyperactive, aggressive business world.

"...do you drive under the influence?"

Rarely. Most often I'm chauferred.

"...What effect did 40 years of smoking have on your lungs?"

THC is a vasodialator, which means that it expands the blood vessels. This is why smokers' eyes get red. The Alveoli in my lungs, therefore, have their millions of tiny supporting capillaries opened in a way that lowers blood pressure and gives the lungs a greatly heightened ability to absorb oxygen.

"...Is pot legal where you live?

Not quite legal, but it's like a parking ticket misdemeanor up to an ounce.

"...How much does it cost?

The time it takes to put a seed in a big planter.

"...some inside joke that the non smokers just don’t get."

How very sad. I feel your senses of ostracization and ineptitude. Does it help at all if I tell you, it's all in your head?

LOL

LMAO!

Thanks for your reply. Promise me you won’t drive under the influence, though, for safety purposes.

Did 40 years of smoking resinous material have a negative effect at all? We’re told marijuana cigarettes have a much higher tar content, a 5 to 1 ratio compared to tobacco. Wouldn’t it be better to eat it?

Well that could certainly explain some of our obsessive dope pushers on this website.

If there were going to be any tidal wave of horrific results, we'd have seen them decades ago.

You haven't noticed California's voting tendencies? Yeah, rational people do not elect Nancy Pelosi and Governor Moonbeam.

Consequences? They are getting more horrific every year. :)

The new stuff is 500 per cent more potent than what you were used to in the 70’s thru the 90’s. THC levels that high are literally frying young persons’ brains. I see it frequently from the young folk that come into my ICU, THC in their systems and psychotic for days!

Another bone I pick with drug users...they often buy stuff that was sourced from murderous drug cartels; meaning money goes into the hands of those that have killed innocent men women and children...doing things as bad or worse than ISIS has done to “unbelievers”. I think a great many “inoffensive pot smokers” have blood on their hands! So much for the libertarian arguments of “live and let live”!

Geeze, people will just keep trotting out the same old counterarguments.

Colorado has been the beneficiary of money and populace streaming out of Bat-Sh*t insane California. (As with Austin Texas, etc.)

I posted all the particulars on this the last time someone brought up this claim, but it really isn't worth my trouble to go find that stuff again.

What is happening in Colorado is a lot like an optimist falling off a building. Initially they say "So far so good."

While marijuana residue has roughly double the oils ("tar" is tobacco's vernacular equivalent) that tobacco does weight-for-weight, the "tar" in cigarette smoke is over 90% non-absorbable by the lungs. It is anhydrous and builds up a permanent layer in the lungs.

The oils in MJ smoke are 85% absorbable and 100% enzyme soluble (pepsin, ptyalin, etc.), which prevents them causing the type of "black lung" condtion experienced by smokers of tobacco (not to be confused with coal mining's "Black Lung Disease"). Combined with the vasodialation of the lungs' capillaries caused by THC, the residue in my lungs doesn't exist.

I have no cough or bronchio-tracheal invlovement. Before I had a chauffer (most of my life) I drove myself. When stoned, I drove stoned. For over 35 years.

I have a Step 9 (lowest possible) license rating, no accidents ever and no speeding tickets in the last 20 years. Weed is not a neuromuscular inhibitor.

I have never seen anyone become agressive, hyperbolic or delusional.

You should read the commentary in the pot threads more often. I personally have been arguing with this one Libertarian dope pusher for the last seven years on another web site.

You simply cannot discuss *ANY* subject without him introducing drugs into the conversation. He will not shut up about it, he will not go away, and he is very much like all those "Gay" rights supporters who want to make certain that everyone knows they are homosexual. It colors everything he does or says.

Laid back he is not. Aggressive, Hyperbolic and Delusional is a perfect description.

This ex-smoker and ex-drinker readily agrees that alcohol and marijuana really mess up some people who use/abuse them - and maintains that messing oneself up is not government's business, and that Joe messing himself up certainly cannot justify restricting the liberties of unmessed Jim, Jack, and Jerry.

Depending on where the get their stuff...they may have blood on their hands! If they grow their own “legacy weed” with the natural “3 to 5 percent THC” levels found in the pot of the 70’s to the 90’s...I don’t have much of an issue with that. The new juiced up GMO style weed with 15 to 20 per cent THC in the joints made with it are what are causing the issues with young persons.

Pot is a gateway drug....Alcohol is often used with it and young folks looking for more exotic highs are led into crack or heroin.

I don’t smoke the stuff but, have many friend who do.

They run the gammut of low end earners to private jet owner.

None...none of them are crazy and are in fact highly productive.

And the Indian reservations are completely free of alcoholics. After all, if Alcohol doesn't bother some people, it won't cause any problems for other people either.

Everyone *I* know on weed is also on welfare or some other government check. Perhaps you have little contact with the poor end of the demographic spectrum?
