I’m glad when couples who do not want children, don’t have them.

I respectfully disagree.
If income is not there to support a family.

I compare my childhood (born ‘51) to that of kids now. How sad, and I am incapable of making them understand what they are being deprived of...very frustrating.

I am still trying to absorb the Pope’s comment that, as one of four children, I am as one of a brood of rabbits.
To: rickmichaels
The Pope has not researched all the reasons for not having children.
Who would want to expose innocent sons & daughters to the degeneracy
and other terrors that proliferate in our world today? I delighted in having four children - they enriched my life in every way. Not sure I would be able to envision a future of opportunity and optimism in this day & age.

Didn’t he just say people shouldn’t “breed like rabbits”? I’m confused.

Pope Francis, who presumably has not been woken up at 4 a.m. on a workday by the howls of a tiny human who wants to be fed and/or changed
Fail.. I doubt you can even conceive the pressure, stress, hours, effort that the earthly leader of the Catholic Church puts in everyday

The fewer children born the fewer people put money in the collection plate when they grow up so the Vatican can get richer.
Mrs. 40 and I have the income and we probably would have made great parents. But we chose not to have kids. That does not mean we are greedy, it means we didn't choose to have children. The pope is clueless.

I don’t want kids and I’m 52.
So up yours Pope-inator....
At this point it seems silly to have kids.
But, if they come along then by golly I’ll welcome them.
Until then, the world is already over populated...

There are some people who should never have children. Every day on the news we see the consequences of those who had children they couldn’t or wouldn’t raise.
To: rickmichaels
I guess every now and then, the Catholics will end up with a loser Pope. This one has many issues.

My position is that, if you don’t want kids then have them and do anything that might bring one into the world. However, once you do bring a child into the world, than you must do everything you can to support it, even if it means working 15 hour days, every day, and for the next 20 years.
