What is a space saver?
It was an item created back in the 1970s to save space in your closet so you could pack more junk into it.
You know, I get that people have no places to park and that they have some “code” that they get to claim a public parking space hours after they have left it, simply because they shoveled it out....
But I also get that is a weak and lame code.
If you own a car then you should own or rent a private place to park it or shut up.
Picnic Table, Chairs, sofa, etc.
In Chicago its the family furniture.
A space saver is usually an old chair or trash can to mark a street parking space previously shoveled out by the "owner" of the space. Etiquette says you don't park in a space someone else shoveled out.
Usually a crappy piece of cheap furniture.
What amazes me after living a lifetime in the Boston area with experience of parking on city streets is the murder rate doesn't go up following major snow storms.
