The unapproved kicking ball that sources told "Outside the Lines" that a Gillette Stadium officials' locker room attendant tried to introduce into the AFC Championship Game was handed to the man by an NFL employee, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Wednesday.

And, just about now, Brian Bostic is wishing that onside kick had been done with one of those under-inflated balls.

The bright side? He’s likely eligible for UIC.

hmmm...sounds like my beloved Patriots might be owed an apology

An apology does not undo the knee-jerk reaction of NFL officials. It was done the New England way, by finding a way to win the SuperBowl!

It was kind of amusing to hear all of those petty NFL losers whine about the Patriots. <^..^>

Well, this is just the ball attempting to be "re-intro'd" at halftime for use by the special teams.

(Wasn't involving any of the deflated Patriot offense footballs detected; for that, we'll await the NFL investigation)

And bigger than what the Pats did or didn't do in that deflategate Colts game is the sudden 8-year turnaround the Pats did in 2007 -- the very first year the NFL allowed team offenses to supply their own footballs.

Brady went from a 61.8 to a 68.9% completion percentage -- in one season...and Brady cont'd to post much higher completion %s after that...(his annual average shot up about 3% more completions per year thru 2014)..

And the Pats, fumbling as much as any other thing in the NFL in 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000 suddenly when into almost fumble-free mode...
...Dumb Luck: The New England Patriots’ prevention of fumbles is nearly impossible...
...Essentially posting year-in, year-out "almost impossible" fumble-free stats EVERY YEAR 2007-2014... especially given the Pats are an "outdoor" team [teams with indoor facilities fumble much less]

(Well, golly gee whiz...what a coincidence!)

“ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the NFL has fired an official from the AFC Championship Game for stealing one of the footballs and attempting to sell it. A second ref noticed this during the game. Schefter also reports that Jim McNally, the attendant supposedly tagged for “trying to introduce an unapproved football”, was provided the footballs by two league employees. One of these employees was fired. Are you following this? A referee stole a game ball and gave the Patriots locker room attendant a replacement football, that was incorrectly approved. This is likely the root of the nonsensical report from last night, and would explain why the attendant was trying to give the ball to an official- he was told to pass the ball along by another official. Apparently the official who stole the football noticed that the officials knew he had taken the ball, and gave it back to McNally to recirculate. The fired employee has apparently been selling footballs on the side. These footballs are typically destined for charity auctions. So an NFL employee was essentially stealing from charities.”

So, it was the NFL all along. Where are all the people who called Belichick and Brady cheaters? I want to hear an apology from every one of those NYC media A-H*LES. I want to hear it from all the FReepers that called the Patriots cheaters.
This was BS from the very beginning. The NFL framed the Patriots. I want Roger gone.

It must be tough being a Bengals fan...and even tougher being a Browns fan! ;-)

Geeze...if Brady gets many more rings he'll run out of fingers!

BWAHAHAHA!

Assuming your statistics can't be contradicted by other factors, like Tom Brady being an excellent QB and Belichik being a brilliant strategist, I still say so what.

All the teams have statisticians. You'd think if this were as you say, these geniuses would've made their case long ago.

Tsk. Tsk. Tsk. Mind-reading not exactly a character trait encouraged on these threads.

Do you use one of those Magic-8 ball outmoded models? (Or perhaps it's become intentionally deflated & needs replacement)

Again, we're talking about a ball that was attempted to be reintro'd at half...for the special teams...distinct from the other balls used by Pat offense that were weighed at half -- and found to be wanting...

(Ya know, Brady was an excellent QB 2006 & before, too)

:: Well, golly gee whiz...what a coincidence! ::

Yeah, on the surface it looks suspicious but an increase in completions has 2 integral parts.
(1) accuracy by the QB. Is there a question regarding this by Brady? Nope.
(2) Receivers not having “bricks for hands”. Has that improved over your time-frame? Yep.

Soft balls do not an NFL porn-film make. Now TALENT, that is a horse of a different color.

About the only NFL games I ever watch are post season. If I had to pick a team I’d go with the Steelers (PA resident), but I don’t really care.

I can see that you’re not a Patriots fan. Do you really want to hang your hat on “shot up 3%”? There are many variables in the game of football, the most significant are talent and preparation. You portend that the only change in the history of Patriots football is the ball. Really?
