I did not watch the Oscars last night and haven't since maybe the early 70's. It's an example what has turned me off over the years from the disgusting and shameless pop culture in this country. I do enjoy watching movies but can do without the Hollywood-types fawning over each other and spewing their liberal drivel, as if they know better than the rest of us.
I knew the best picture, I've seen all year, American Sniper, would not win any major awards from this bunch of Michael Moore clones and I was right. The best picture rarely is the "best" picture of the year. It's all about political posturing and marketing among the insiders.
So I'm with you. Controlled my viewing last night with the judicious use of the remote and never turned the Oscars on. And if I never, ever hear that haughty, lying, arrogant, lecturing voice of Obama again in my lifetime, I will be happy. Turns my stomach faster than I can turn the channel sometimes. :-)

May be the voters don’t realize that the people by their spending felt the same.
May be off on the actual global $$ but I believe American Sniper earned $304 million in US & Canada, and the Winner Birdman came in around $30 million.
My how they love to reward their own...
