Harold Ramis got snubbed too...
Thnks for that info.
To show background people, as they did, and not someone like Harold, or Joan who were Hollywood personalities, in movies or not, points out the double standard of “ the club”
Considering Harold Ramis wrote and/or directed “Animal House,” “Ghostbusters,” “Caddyshack,” “Back to School,” “Groundhog Day” and many more, that was a HUGE snub.
The snubbing of Ramis was the biggest surprise, at least IMO. Joan Rivers had very skimpy movie credentials, so that gave the academy a reason to omit her. On the other hand, Ramis wrote, directed or acted in some of the biggest film comedies over the past 35 years, including Caddyshack, Ghostbusters and Groundhog Day. As far as I know, he had the “right” liberal credentials. Obviously he pissed someone off in the “film community.”
He died right before the last Oscars and I think they gave him the tribute then.
He made some really good movies.
