The engine quit and I think he had trouble making it to the golf course. One witness said he clipped a tree. An engine out is no big deal if there is a place to land.

Harrison Ford is an outstanding pilot.
The PT 22 is very unforgiving plane to fly engine out and it has horrible stall-spin characteristics, especially in an engine out condition.
FWIW, the Cactus Fly In for antique aircraft is going on this weekend in Casa Grande Az .
Perhaps he was headed that way.

He’s 74 not 72- his age has been adjusted downward over the years. A man has GOT to know his limitations- and I don’t think geriatric pot-heads should be flying planes.
