This is my favorite knife. I never leave home without it. Being in martial arts all my life, I know and have seen what a knife like this does to the human body. This knife I bought from Budk.com. Fits a large hand well, a little heavy,but crazy sharp right out of the box. I loved it so much,I bought 6 more for family. my daughter loves hers.

Looks like the techniques would also work with a carpet-cutting knife.
With the advantage that a carpet knife can be claimed to be a tool rather than a weapon.
