Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, today is a gift.....that is why it is called ‘Present”. ;-)

Well.

You’re no help.

Post 18 was a nasty, bitter diatribe against freerepublic, no wonder that it also seems that you carry some personal grudge.

I have tangled with you before, ansel12. I find it particularly amusing that I agreed with you and you chose to attack me. BTW, you lost the first round, too! LOL

I love tangling with Ansell.

His personal attacks just make things more insightful.

I agree with him, and you, and my Step father, and I understand the stakes at hand.

My question remains.

Who is going to stop this ?

Am I so naive to think that there are enough conservatives willing to take to the streets and take a stand?

My Step father doesn’t believe there are.

I believe otherwise.

The 2016 election will take place, Obama is not going to do away with the presidential election, nor will he run for a 3rd term for the democrat party (or any party).

I don’t buy the idea of a third run at Presidency. I lean more towards an economic collapse with large riots in every city, followed by Marshal Law just before the elections, which will be postponed and then cancelled. Soros has experience rattling markets and currencies.

Thanks. Once again the point has to be made that it is up to the states to thwart tyranny.

“You’re no help.”

I hope that that was said lightheartedly because it did make me smile.

I am hopeful that people would rise up and stop Obemba then kill every other communist-totalitarian in this country but I cannot see into the future. He has gotten away with so much already and nothing/no one/no group or party has stopped him. If the damage that he has already done did not make people ‘rise up’ then I have doubts that anything would stop him. If people would ‘rise up’ then I would be right there with them. However, how long would I last? I did my best to answer your question. ;-)

This is my position as well.

The point of my post is that there are “Other” (well considered others) that think 0bama will attempt a 3rd term.

Their arguments are not without merit.

Our arguments seem to rest with hope.

Everyone has an opinion. ;-)

Grudge? LOL

I have read many of your posts. You are usually counter to everyone else and seem to enjoy stirring up trouble. ;-)

Their bizarre theories and conspiracies are without merit, you can’t take all the nutcases seriously, and that goes for your stepfather.

My guess is that your step father has other conspiracies and whack theories as well, correct?

I am convinced your step father is correct, and have been arguing the same points for a long time.

When we reflect on the Founding Fathers, consider the four things they were pledged to:

1. Their lives - they were willing to stand up to tyranny and if necessary die as martyrs. How many of our cohort are literally willing to die for the the cause of liberty?

2. Their fortunes — we cannot even find any similar “leaders” of financial means willing to seriously risk anything. The rhetorical “leaders” of the liberty movement rarely present the brutal truth as it would risk their ratings and advertising income (Mark Levin and a handful of local talkers like Steve Deace and Jim Garrison probably being the exception). And our political “leaders?” They will not even risk a single point in leftist opinion polls or incur a harsh word from the leftist establishment press (but I repeat myself) in order to do the right thing.

3. Their sacred honor — seriously, do we have even a handful of “leaders” with any sense of honor? Not from where I sit. there are only a half dozen or so with access to mass information organs who are on our side when push comes to shove.

4. The fourth commitment by the Founders was the willingness to, if necessary, kill their fellow British subjects in order to achieve liberty. How many of us are willing to literally kill our dependent/collectivist neighbors if necessary to stop Obama?

It is possibly true that the legion of patriots may be sizable, perhaps even adequate to the task of stopping fascist tyranny. But the disparate threads of the movement need to be pulled together into a cogent and irresistible whole in order to prevail. Given the deafening silence in the face of the statist juggernaut over the past 6, 10, 2o years, I am not optimistic about such a development.

The sad thing is that he will not do something a blatant as run for a third term. The reality is we will have someone else in the office and that person will continue the same crap to one degree or another.

It is as it was in Rome at the fall of the Republic. The Empire began when Augustus continued to be the “first citizen”, even when he was not Counsel for the yearly term. The forms and offices of the republic were preserved but subverted.

You have to consider that many, if not most, FReepers are old, decrepit and simply can no longer be as active as a 20-year-old in his prime.
Some, despite their posts of outright rebellion, are at the point of being too old to care much about what is going to happen tomorrow and do not even know if they are going to be on this Earth tomorrow. I, for example, am 71-years old with multiple health issues

You were 68 when you joined FR, and like I said, you seem to think that FR is like you, old and cynical, and indifferent.

His point is that 0bama has the media.

The media is NOT that impressed with Obama...Yes, the media is liberal but they're not criminals.

Not saying Obama hasn't 'groomed' some lone wolf journalists/communists - Obama does have a tendency to stand with criminals - even glorify criminals... But 98% to 99% of American journalists are loyal Americans. Maybe more...

The other thing is the United States is a country of laws... white people aren't going to 'flood the streets'... that's the black and brown way. We're not going to hold hands and sing either... or take to wearing $500 sneakers. Or stealing them.

Come on...

Many years ago a friend who lived on the South Side of Chicago came up with a plan: we would all vote for Goldwater and then when Goldwater won there would be a revolution... I remember looking at her and realizing all my socialist friends were nuts... not in touch with American... not in touch with reality.

You and I would think so, but actually NO.

I’m well aware of “retired Military” types that go off into, well, insanity.

He’s not that guy.

He'd have to fall back on his foreign citizenship. No citizen of a permanent Security Council member is eligible.

American presidents would rather enjoy all the perks they have coming to them in retirement, than hang around until they're thrown out of office by force.

Obama's going to love the cushy life of an ex-President. Golf, $400,000 speaking fees -- what's not to love? And why throw that all away?
