Willie Nelson Is Launching His Own Brand of Weed
Daily Beast ^ | March 26, 2015 | James Joiner

Posted on 03/27/2015 1:26:32 PM PDT by Zakeet

Willie Nelson takes a hit of the cigarette-sized vaporizer in his gnarled hand, exhaling a small cloud, before placing it on the foldout table in front of us. We’re seated in the cool enclave of his tour bus, at the entrance to his sprawling property just outside Austin, Texas, which he has dubbed the town of Luck. Up a hill and around a corner, people are rocking out at Willie’s own Heartbreaker Banquet, an annual fundraiser/music festival held concurrently with SXSW.

Now 81, Willie is biding his time before joining the festivities, and we’re talking about why he puts on the event every year. In the process, he lets slip that he has something else in the works: a new brand of weed, called, naturally, Willie’s Reserve.

Willie can’t be all that bad. Yea he smokes weed but he had some good words to say about Sarah Palin on Larry King.

I thought Willie was a Kucinich supporter which means he’s way out there to the Left.

“Willie Weed”, made from the best SEED.

Let’s see: “Slick Willy, Katherine Willy, Willie Nelson”.

What do they all have in common? If you find out, let me know because I don’t know. A prick, a victim and a mummy?

Yeah, and I’d like nothing better to do than run that Obama-supporting dopehead liberal hippie out of MY state. He’s a hipster icon to all those pathetic, urban, baby-boomer yuppies who ride their cycles every weekend to the various icehouses and think they’re all tough and Texan-y, with their silly armadillo beltbuckles and such (armadillos, another invasive and decidely non-Texas animal who silly morons started using the iconography of).

If I want a REAL Texan to listen to, I’ll opt for Tex Ritter, whose grave in Port Neches I’ve visited many times, or Jim Reeves, who has that nice roadside memorial outside of Carthage, or even that drunkard Lefty Frizzell from Corsicana. Or maybe even a bit of top-notch late-20s jazz from Vernon’s own Jack Teagarden.

Willie Nelson? Obama-voting hippie dopehead? To hell with him. Human trash.

Nah, he ain’t from Texas - he’s likely some Yankee. Probably thinks country music is Blake Shelton or somebody

He’s a moonbat (lifetime dopers tend toward that) but no reason to wish for him to die, as was expressed upthread.

“Good for him, says I!”

Same here. I hope he is as successful in the new pot business as he was making music...& I am not really into his style of music!

Willie thinks bathing weakens a man. As a result he is a very powerful man.

I wouldn’t go that far.

But the affection that so many on this thread seem to have for this twerp is puzzling.

Yeah, it’s a sore spot with me, having this leftist, drug-addled creep somehow be considered a symbol of Texas. Were this scuzzy-looking, dope-hazed hippie to be found perched on any streetcorner in the far-to-wide Texas towns of my kin in their day or before, he’d either be immediately thrown in the jug or stomped on by the locals and then tossed in a ditch over the county line. The REAL Texas didn’t put up with such trash in their midst.

He’s just become a pathetic icon of Texas to urbanized yuppies who gravitate to edgy ‘outlaw’ country during their mid-life crises, and think themselves tough rebels, listening to Michael Berry on the radio, and immersed in roadhouse dreams of a never-neverland of libertarian individualism and utopianism, as they zip along the farm roads and byways between I-35 and I-45 on their plush-seated motorbikes.

If you’re addressing me, I don’t know who the hell Blake Shelton is, and don’t particularly care to look him up.
