Yeah,,im sure it’s gotta be Dallas. And you don’t even know what a Texan is. It don’t mean &hit where your momma whelped you, or how long your family was there. My family homesteaded there earlier than yours. Got our name on a little known memorial wall there even. But that don’t mean nothing either. You’re confusing Texan with being a legacy in a sorority.
Nobody in Abbott agrees with you about Willie not being Texan.
Your hundred year thing? Bite me, Jerry Jeff Walker, Stephen F Austin, Sam Houston, Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett,,, none were born in Texas.
There is a modern cult of starched shirt Texans of which you sound like one. They love the DPS. They aren’t fans of open carry. They value rule following above every other pursuit.
In truth a Texan is anyone who can stand inside the borders that you ain’t big enough to make leave. That’s us. The Mexicans got ran out. And the Comanches and other assorted plains bums got run out too. They all live north of the Red River now.
So if you think Willie ain’t a Texan, then show us you can run him out. If you cant get it done, then THAT makes Willie a bona fide Texan. Because in its barest form, a Texan is someone standing between the Rio Grande and the Red River, giving you the finger and doing exactly what he wants. Always has been, always will be. Getting more that way again.
PS,,,I bet you voted for Cornyn/
Ha! Boy do you have your wires crossed about me!
Let’s put it another way. Back when the first musical recordings were made in Texas around 1924 or 1925, by folks like Lloyd Finlay, Fatty Martin, and Jimmy Joy, were a raggedy, dope-smoking hippie like Nelson happen to appear on a streetcorner of some towns like Anson, Zavalla, Coleman, Westphalia, Ben Wheeler, Archer City, or any other Texan town... would he have gotten a reception much different than that of the Santa Claus bandit in Eastland in 1929?
Bravo!
